Finance Minister Yoo Il-ho says that the government will continue to implement active fiscal policies to stimulate the economy this year.
 
Yoo predicted at an emergency finance meeting Wednesday that the momentum for an economic recovery will grow weaker in 2017 due to economic hurdles at home and abroad.

Noting that frontloading the national budget in the first half and quickly executing supplementary budgets afterward helped the economy grow last year, Yoo said the government will maintain the policy again this year.
 
The central government will spend 31 percent of its total budget in the first quarter of this year. Local governments will frontload 26 percent of their annual budgets during the same period.
