Int'l Cargo at Incheon Airport Hits Fresh High in 2016

Incheon International Airport processed a record amount of cargo last year.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport says two-point-seven million tons of cargo passed through South Korea's main international airport last year.

That's 30-thousand tons more than the previous record set in 2010, and four-point-six percent more than a year earlier.

Virtually all of South Korea's international air cargo --- 99-point-four percent --- goes through Incheon, with the value of the processed cargo making up more than 27 percent of the country’s overall trade.
