Bank of Korea(BOK) Governor Lee Ju-yeol says the central bank will carefully adjust monetary policies depending on the situation at each juncture.
 
Lee made the remarks in a meeting with reporters Monday morning, suggesting that the South Korean economy will be faced with ever-expanding uncertainties this year.
 
While calling 2016 a tough year for the central bank, he said many difficulties are again expected this year amid an economic downturn.
 
Lee said that the most important task is to keep the financial and foreign exchange markets, as well as the real economy stable. He stressed that it is appropriate to pursue an expansive monetary policy for the time being, promising to pay special attention to maintaining financial stability.
