Bioscience Think Tank Announces Winners of Research Idea Contest

The Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology has announced the winners of a research idea contest.

The state-run institute held the contest as part of its efforts to identify what people want from the bioscience research sector and how society can benefit from the research.

A total of 100 proposals were received in four categories, including disease, aging and well-being; environment and energy; and food. Among them, four winners were selected after an expert review.

The highest award was given to a team of Inha University students who proposed a digital device responsive to specific allergens.

The four selected ideas will be realized through research projects.
