Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Yoo Il-ho says the government's momentum for restructuring will continue next year.
Yoo made the remark on Monday during a meeting in Seoul of related ministers on boosting industrial competitiveness.
He said the government will go over action plans on how to strengthen the competitiveness of sensitive industries such as shipbuilders, shippers and steelmakers and come up with detailed strategies on implementing key tasks for next year.
Yoo said the government will review potential risk factors faced by other industries, including construction firms. He said the government will come up with preemptive response measures if deemed necessary.
As part of efforts to pursue effective restructuring, he said the government will also promote a so-called "pre-packaged plan system," which combines the strengths of workout and reorganization processes.
