The Seoul Grand Park has decided to euthanize 49 endangered mandarin ducks.

Five of its mandarin ducks tested positive for highly pathogenic H5 category of the disease while 45 others were confirmed to contract bird flu viruses yet to be determined.

The park said that the measure is inevitable. 

The park said animal handlers will make a decision on other birds after consultations with experts and the Cultural Heritage Administration.
