Korean Goods Trade Fair Kicks off in Mumbai

The Trade Ministry and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency(KOTRA) kicked off its largest-ever trade fair in Mumbai on Monday.

Around 100 small and medium-sized manufacturers attended the two-day exhibition in India to showcase premium consumer goods.

Some 600 buyers from a dozen countries, including India, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Russia viewed South Korean products and held consultations with the manufacturers.

Officials from e-commerce companies such as Flipkart and Snapdeal set up booths at the event to discuss third-party sales on the platforms.

India, which has a population of one-point-three billion, has a large domestic market that has been growing at an annual pace of seven percent despite the global recession. Trade with South Korea remains at a mere two percent of its total trade.
