Snow Unlikely on Christmas

It looks unlikely that South Korea will see a white Christmas this year.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) predicts cloudy weather for Christmas day in major cities nationwide including Seoul, Daejeon, Cheongju and Busan. It also forecasts cloudy weather for Christmas Eve as well.

According to the weather agency, over the past 42 years, snow has fallen on Christmas only 15 times and accumulated on only eight occasions, with the possibility of snow on the day being just 35-point-seven percent.

The largest Christmas snowfall was in 1990 at two-point-one centimeters. One-point-eight centimeters of snow piled up in both 1980 and 2000.
