The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Thursday climbed 39 points, a gain of nearly two percent, closing at two-thousand-31.
 
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ is up one percent, gaining six points to close at 584.
 
On the foreign exchange market, the value of South Korea's currency strengthened by nine-point-four won against the dollar, closing at one-thousand-158-point-five.
