Korail Labor and Mgmt. Reach Deal on Normalizing Train Operations

Labor and management at the Korea Railroad Corporation(Korail) have settled a strike and agreed to normalize train operations.

Under the deal announced Wednesday, unionized workers will return to work within days and a draft on adjusting wages within the scope of government guidelines will be put to a vote.

Some of Korail's routes have been stalled since September 27th due to the strike, which unions staged in protest of a performance-based wage system.

Korail has issued an apology for causing inconvenience to train passengers.
