South Korea’s consumer prices increased for the third consecutive month in November.
Statistics Korea said Thursday that the nation’s consumer price index rose one-point-three percent last month year-on-year.
The consumer price growth rate remained in the zero percent range from May to August before rising to one-point-two percent in September. Prices increased by one-point-three percent in October.
Service prices jumped one-point-eight percent in November, raising overall consumer prices by one percentage point overall. Electricity, water and gas fees fell six-point-four percent from a year earlier. But the drop is smaller than that in October due to higher international oil prices, which led to a rise in petroleum and gas prices.
Core prices, which exclude petroleum products and farm produce, rose one-point-four percent from the same period last year.
