S. Korea's Q3 Net External Assets Hit Record High

South Korea’s net external assets in debt instruments hit a record high of 380 billion U.S. dollars in the third quarter.

According to the Bank of Korea on Wednesday, the country’s external assets stood at 784 billion U.S. dollars at the end of September, up 34 billion dollars from three months earlier.

The nation's total external liability reached a little over 400 billion dollars in the third quarter, up more than eight billion dollars from the previous quarter.

Accordingly, the country’s net external assets came to 383-point-five billion U.S. dollars in the third quarter, up 25-point-seven billion dollars from the second quarter.

External assets and liabilities are comprised of loans, borrowings, bonds and trade credit.
