The tech-heavy KOSDAQ, on the other hand, slipped four-point-77 points, or zero-point-eight percent, to 593-point-05.
 
On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened seven won against the U.S. dollar to one-thousand-170-point-four won.
