Samsung Extends Record-High Market Share in Mobile DRAM

Samsung Electronics has further cemented its dominance in the world’s mobile DRAM(dynamic random-access memory) chip market, extending its record-high market share for the second straight quarter.

According to industry tracker DRAMeXchange on Friday, Samsung's sales of mobile DRAM amounted to two-point-96 billion dollars in the third quarter, up 22-point-four percent from the previous quarter.

The South Korean firm's market share was boosted from 61-point-five percent in the second quarter to 64-point-five percent in Q3.

Samsung's mobile DRAM market share first surpassed 60 percent in the first quarter after reaching 58-point-two percent in the fourth quarter of last year.
