The South Korean stock market opened and closed an hour later than usual on Thursday due to the nationwide administration of the College Scholastic Ability Test.

At the day's close, the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) was little changed from Wednesday, only inching up zero-point-nine point, or zero-point-05 percent, to one-thousand-980-point-55.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ slipped zero-point-07 point, or zero-point-01 percent, to 627-point-76.
 
On the foreign exchange market, the local currency depreciated six-point-seven won against the U.S. dollar to one-thousand-175-point-nine won.
