Ministry Sets out to Promote Strengths of KORUS FTA

South Korean officials are doing a bit of cheerleading for the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, which President-elect Trump has indicated he may seek to revise or completely renegotiate.

At the 28th South Korea-U.S. Business Council meeting in Seoul Thursday, Trade Minister Joo Hyung-hwan said the agreement helped reduce the U.S. trade deficit with South Korea by 15-point-seven billion dollars last year alone.

He pointed out South Korean investment in the U.S. has helped create 10-thousand quality American jobs over the last four years.

Trump has frequently lumped the Korea-US FTA into a grouping of what he calls "bad trade deals" that are not good for American workers.
