Lippert: S. Korea-US Ties Will See No Change

U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Mark Lippert has stressed that Seoul-Washington relations will remain unchanged even after the U.S. presidential election.

The ambassador spoke to reporters on Wednesday at an event at the U.S. embassy to watch the vote count in the presidential race

Lippert said the South Korea-U.S. alliance has been strong for over 60 years and that he sees no change in that. He said though the alliance has seen ups and downs throughout the years, it continues to be strong and it will continue to grow.

Regarding the election, Lippert said explained that every four years, Americans go to the polls to choose who will lead at the White House and in Congress. He called it "unique" to watch the elections in South Korea.

Asked who he thinks will win the race, Lippert did not give a reply.
