N. Korea: South, North Students to Meet to Pursue Youth Festival

Pyongyang says student groups from the two Koreas and other countries will hold working talks as early as this month to pursue a youth gathering to discuss Koreas' unification.

The North’s official Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) said Thursday that the students announced the decision in a joint statement released on the 87th anniversary of the Gwangju Students Independence Movement. It said the student groups comprise youth associations of the South, North and overseas sectors of the June 15th North-South Joint Declaration implementation committees.

The groups said they will discuss pending issues to pursue the Korean youth unification festival.
