Due to a host of political shockwaves at home and abroad, the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Wednesday tumbled 28-point-45 points, or one-point-42 percent, to close at one-thousand-978-point-94.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ plummeted 20-point-32 points, or three-point-24 percent, to 606-point-06.
 
On the foreign exchange market, the local currency depreciated nine-point-nine won against the U.S. dollar to one-thousand-149-point-eight won.
