52% of S. Koreans Believe Some Jobs More Honorable than Others

A local survey has found that 52 percent of South Koreans believe that some jobs are more honorable and important than others.

Job portal Saramin released on Tuesday the results of a survey conducted on more than 22-hundred adults.

As for the most important criteria that determine whether the jobs are honorable or not, 36 percent cited social perception of the work, while 26 percent named income. The poll respondents also cited working conditions and job security.

Among those who cited income, an annual salary of over 120 million won was considered a proper income for “honorable" jobs.

In addition, 58 percent of the respondents said that they have judged people solely based on their occupation.
