Facebook will expand its worldwide campaign on supporting female entrepreneurs to South Korea.
The social networking giant held a media briefing session in Seoul on Tuesday and announced that it was launching the campaign created on March eighth of this year to mark International Women’s Day.
Facebook plans to provide practical support through tools and online lessons on marketing and handling customers using social networking services to some 500 female business owners in South Korea working in the fields of fashion, food service and arts.
Together with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Ewha Womans University and nonprofit group Girls in Tech, Facebook will also seek to expand the network of female entrepreneurs and hold workshops where they can share business experiences.
The campaign will not be providing financial support, including advertisement costs, to participants.
The initiative is currently being operated in 13 countries, including the U.S., Britain and Japan.
Facebook has some one-point-seven billion monthly active users around the world, including 17 million in South Korea.
