North Korea has lambasted a United States senior official for warning that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un may acquire an enhanced capacity to carry out a nuclear attack, but then he will “immediately die."
The North’s official Korean Central News Agency reported that in a statement, a spokesman of the North Korean Foreign Ministry on Saturday called Assistant U.S. Secretary of State Daniel Russel's comment an act of provocation tantamount to a declaration of war.
The North then threatened that it will destroy the White House first if the U.S. attempts an attack against the North.
The statement also claimed that the Obama administration's policy on North Korea was a complete failure, and that it is trying to avoid the responsibility of leading the North into becoming a nuclear power and putting the safety of the U.S. mainland into danger.
