The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) dropped 18-point-29 points, or zero-point-nine percent, to close at two-thousand-15-point-44 on Thursday as institutional investors turned to selling. 

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also retreated six-point-86 points, or one-point-02 percent, to 663-point-09.
 
On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency weakened 12-point-three won against the U.S. dollar to one-thousand-135-point-nine won.
