The head of Samsung Electronics’ mobile business has vowed to determine the cause of the problems plaguing the Galaxy Note 7, which prompted the massive recall worldwide and eventually the discontinuation of sales of the phablet.
In an email sent to all employees on Tuesday, President of Mobile Communication at Samsung Koh Dong-jin said he feels wretched about the problems surrounding the Note 7.
However, he promised to thoroughly investigate the underlying causes at all costs so that every customer can rest assured that they can trust Samsung's products and use them enjoyably.
Koh said his department has faced its worst crisis over the past several weeks but dealt with it head-on in a swift and courageous manner.
He added that the company will also thoroughly examine the problems involving the replacement models, find out the fundamental causes and take the best measures for customers.
Koh said although the investigation into the heart of the problems may take some time, the company is resolute to regain its pride and public trust regarding the quality of Samsung’s products.
