S. Korea Reviewing Additional Independent Sanctions on N. Korea

South Korea is considering additional unilateral sanctions against North Korea.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Cho June-hyuck said Tuesday, a government-wide review is under way on how to better cooperate with the United States, the European Union and Japan on holding Pyongyang accountable for recent provocations.

Pyongyang conducted its fifth nuclear weapons test last month.

President Park Geun-hye hinted this week that world opinion is turning against North Korea, saying the North may face difficulties in maintaining diplomatic ties around the world if it does not stop developing nuclear weapons.
