President Roh urges sports officials to bring 2010 Winter Olympics to Pyungchang

South Korean president Roh Moo Hyun invited major sports officials including IOC Commissioners Kim Un Yong and Lee Kun Hee, along with Prime Minister Koh Kun to Chong Wa Dae Tuesday, urging them to capitalize on South Korea's bid to host the 2010 Winter Olympic games.

During the meeting, President Roh asked the officials to do their part in peace-making efforts on the Korean peninsula by attracting the 2010 Winter Games to Pyungchang in Kangwon Province.

The Pyungchang Winter Olympics bid team will leave for the Czech Republic on June 28th to engage in last-minute lobbying for the South Korean city.

The Olympic host city is to be chosen on July 2nd.
