A South Korean civic group has said it delivered additional humanitarian assistance to North Korea to help residents hit hard by recent floods in the North's northeast region.
The Seoul-based Korean Sharing Movement said in a newsletter sent to its members on Tuesday that it sent floor mats and medicine worth 80 million won, or 71-thousand U.S. dollars, to the flood-hit areas in North Hamgyong Province on September 29th and the 30th.
The group disclosed that it was the third batch of assistance it provided to the region since last month, following two previous deliveries of aid on September 20th and the 26th, adding the aid was delivered through a Korean civic group operating overseas and sent to people in Onseong, North Hamgyong.
It said the latest goods included a 35-thousand square meter vinyl floor pad and diarrhea, fever and cold medicine.
The group disclosed to the public earlier that it provided 28 million won worth of ramen and flour for the North last month.
