N. Korea Issues Fresh Threats Amid Preemptive Strike Rumors

North Korea has threatened to launch retaliatory attacks against South Korea in protest of rumors that South Korea is mulling a preemptive strike against the North and of a South Korea-U.S. joint training on precisely hitting North Korean facilities.

The North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) said Sunday that attempts by warmongers to preemptively strike the North is becoming a reality.

The report claimed that the risky military madness surrounding the Korean Peninsula and its surrounding areas is driving conditions to the worst state of crisis.

Meanwhile, the Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the North’s Workers’ Party of Korea, harshly criticized President Park Geun-hye’s latest remarks directed at North Korean people.

During a ceremony marking the nation’s 68th Armed Forces Day last Saturday, Park said in a speech that she hopes more North Korean people will defect to the free land of South Korea.

The paper said that with her speech, Park had defamed North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and instigated the defection of North Koreans.
