The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) sank nine-point-76 points, or zero-point-47 percent, to close at two-thousand-53-point-06 on Wednesday despite overnight gains on Wall Street.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ edged down one-point-23 points, or zero-point-18 percent, to 686-point-76.
 
On the foreign exchange market, the local currency was left nearly unchanged against the greenback to one-thousand-96-point-eight won.
