N. Korea Wages 225 Cyber Attacks on South's Military Over 3 Years

North Korea has waged 225 cyberattacks on the South Korean military in the past three years.

According to data from the nation's military court, obtained by Representative Joo Kwang-deok of the ruling Saenuri Party who sits on Legislation and Judiciary Committee, North Korea launched cyberattacks on the South's military 96 times in 2014 and 86 times last year. So far this year, as of July, there have been 43 such attacks.

Of the 86 attacks last year, 74 incidents, or 86 percent, involved hacking into e-mails. The other 12 cases involved malicious codes.

Representative Joo said that despite continuing cyberattacks from the North, the South Korean military's security consciousness remains low.
