The number of passengers that went through Incheon International Airport during the Chuseok holidays this year posted the highest on record among all previous holidays.
The Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on Monday that the airport’s passenger traffic amounted to some 790-thousand between September 13th and the 17th. That means that the airport saw nearly 162-thousand passengers on average daily, or the largest ever among all holiday periods.
The corporation said that when considering that roughly 184-thousand passengers went through the airport last Sunday, the last day of the Chuseok holiday, the total passenger traffic for this year’s Chuseok holiday is likely to top 970-thousand.
The corporation said that the number of arriving passengers stood at 109-thousand on Sunday alone, likely posting the largest figure of arriving passengers in one day since 2001 when the airport opened.
