KOSPI Regains Footing on Tuesday

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) rebounded on Tuesday, although it wasn't enough to break through the psychologically important two-thousand level.

The main index gained seven-point-88 points, or zero-point-four percent, to close at one-thousand-999-point-36.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ rose seven-point-24 points, or one-point-11 percent, to close at 660-point-15.

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency weakened five-point-three won against the U.S. dollar to one-thousand-118-point-eight won.

The South Korean markets will be closed for the Chuseok holidays from Wednesday to Friday. They will reopen as normal from next Monday.
