The government has announced measures to ensure a stable supply and demand of rice ahead of the harvesting season.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said on Monday that the government will purchase 360-thousand tons of rice for state-controlled rice reserves and buy 30-thousand tons for the distribution of aid overseas.

In addition, the ministry will expand financial support for rice processing complexes to facilitate their rice purchase and provide continued guidance and assistance, which will allow the complexes to purchase the staple food at reasonable prices.
