The Finance Ministry announced on Monday that it plans to execute more than 70 percent of the supplementary budget before the Chuseok holidays begin on Wednesday.
 
The ministry plans to spend by Tuesday six-point-one trillion won, or 71 percent of the eight-point-six trillion won budget at the central government's disposal.
  
The ministry is aiming to swiftly execute the extra funds to realize its effects as it had taken 38 days for parliament to approve the budget plan due to wide differences between rival political camps.
