Following its recalls in South Korea and the United States, Samsung Electronics has urged users in eight more countries to stop using its Galaxy Note 7 smartphones.
In the wake of 35 confirmed cases of the Galaxy Note 7 catching fire, the company said in a statement Sunday that users should turn off the device as soon as possible and exchange it with a new product.
Samsung said it is working to exchange the products swiftly and conveniently and thanked users for their understanding and patience.
The tech giant's recommendation applies to all international users of the phablets in addition to those in the ten countries where the Galaxy Note 7 was officially launched.
The Galaxy Note 7 was initially released in South Korea, the United States, Canada, Taiwan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates on August 19th.
