An initial list of companies participating in the “2016 Korea Sale FESTA,” the nation's largest tourism and shopping festival, has been released on the event’s official Web site (www.koreasalefesta.kr).
The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry said Friday that 145 companies and 43-thousand stores signed up to participate as of Wednesday, and the number of participants is continuing to grow. Compared to last year, more manufacturers will take part in this year’s festival. Some 40 manufacturing companies have registered so far, including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, shoemaker Kumkang, kitchen furniture maker Hanssem and fashion company Hyungji.
The chamber said that it will take applications by late September, expecting that the number of participants will surge once detailed promotion plans are arranged for each company after the Chuseok holiday.
The 2016 Korea Sale FESTA will run from September 29th to October 31st, featuring not just shopping opportunities but also concerts and exhibitions.
