The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) hit a fresh new high for the year as the possibility of an interest rate hike in the U.S. further dimmed following the release of a weaker-than-expected jobs report. 

The main index rallied 21-point-77 points, or one-point-07 percent, to close at two-thousand-60-point-08.
 
The secondary KOSDAQ rose two-point-58 points, or zero-point-38 percent, to 679-point-49.
 
On the foreign exchange market, the local currency appreciated 12-point-one won against the U.S. dollar to one-thousand-105-point-one won.
