5 Hanjin Ships Anchored Offshore to Enter Port of Busan on Friday

Five ships of Hanjin Shipping, which were denied entry on Thursday into the Port of Busan after container lashing providers refused to work on them, will enter the port on Friday.

According to the Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, related agencies decided in a meeting to provide payment guarantee for container lashing companies, paving the way for berthing and unloading at the nation's largest port.

The five ships have been lying at anchor offshore for two days after three cargo lashing companies refused to work until Hanjin Shipping paid them one-point-six billion won in bills that have been overdue for four months.

With the related agencies’ decision, the five Hanjin ships will enter the Port of Busan on Friday afternoon and the import cargoes will be unloaded normally.
