Creditors Not to Provide More Assistance to Hanjin Shipping

Creditors of Hanjin Shipping will not provide more financial assistance to the cash-strapped shipper.

The Korea Development Bank(KDB) said Tuesday that it and other creditors unanimously decided not to supply Hanjin with more rescue funds. The decision follows the creditors’ expression of dissatisfaction over the shipping company’s earlier self-help measures to ease its financial difficulties.

As a result, the troubled shipping company will likely be placed under court receivership soon.

Previously, KDB asked other creditors to express opinions on whether to continue financial assistance to Hanjin Shipping by Tuesday.
