The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Monday fell five-point-15 points, or zero-point-25 percent, to close at two-thousand-32-point-35, over lingering speculation that the U.S. may soon raise interest rates.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ tumbled 16-point-85 points, or two-point-48 percent, to 663-point-58 due to foreign and institutional selling.

On the foreign exchange market, the local currency depreciated eleven-point-three won against the greenback to one-thousand-125 won.
