Heat Advisories Lifted in Most Parts of Country

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) lifted all heat advisories issued nationwide as of 6 p.m. Thursday, excluding parts of southern South Jeolla Province and Jeju Island.

As for the capital Seoul, the advisory has been lifted 25 days after it first came into effect on July 31st.

In areas where the heatwave continues, including South Jeolla Province, the advisory will be lowered from alarm to warning

The KMA said that starting Friday, daytime highs in most areas across the country will be similar to the seasonal average at around 30 degrees Celsius as cool air from the upper atmosphere heads south while cloudy conditions linger for the time being.

Rain is also forecast in the central region of Seoul, Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces from Thursday afternoon through Friday. Rain is also expected Friday in southern inland regions.
