The European Union has denounced North Korea’s latest submarine launched ballistic missile(SLBM) test.

The European Commission(EC) said in a joint statement that the North’s SLBM launch on Wednesday is another violation of the country’s international obligation stipulated by the UN Security Council resolutions.

The EC also urged the regime to suspend its missile activities and scrap its missile programs.

France, a permanent member of the UNSC, also labeled the North’s missile launch as another irresponsible provocation, pointing out that it constitutes a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2270 that was adopted in March.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the North’s SLBM test-launch is threatening the peace and security in the region and the world, urging Pyongyang to dismantle its nuclear and missile programs in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner.
