Three N. Koreans Defect to S. Korea via the Yellow Sea

In the wake of the recent defection by a high-ranking North Korean diplomat, another group of North Koreans is said to have defected to South Korea by boat.

Seoul's intelligence agency said Tuesday, that a fishing boat carrying three North Koreans was found by the Pyeongtaek Coast Guard on August seventh in South Korean waters.

The North Koreans immediately expressed their intentions to defect to the South and were handed over to intelligence authorities.

The National Intelligence Service(NIS) is reportedly investigating the defectors. The NIS believes the boat departed from North Pyongan Province and passed through international waters in the Yellow Sea.
