The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced on Monday that it will release eight-thousand-310 tons of marine products from government stockpiles to stabilize prices ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
From Monday through September 13th, the government will release some three-thousand tons of pollack, one-thousand-800 tons of mackerel, and around two-thousand tons of squid, among others.
The ministry will mainly supply the marine goods to key traditional markets across the nation to revitalize their business in addition to stabilizing prices. The products will be sold ten to 30 percent cheaper than market prices.
Meanwhile, the ministry plans to jointly conduct special crackdowns with related agencies to block unfair distribution activities, including the use of fake origin labels for products, ahead of Chuseok, which begins on September 14th.
