Only 34% of Small Firms Have Recruitment Plan for 2nd Half

Just three out of ten small firms in South Korea have established a recruitment plan for the second half of this year, a time when young job seekers usually anticipate securing employment.

Job portal JobKorea on Wednesday announced its recent survey results on the country’s 416 small and medium-sized firms with less than 300 employees.

According to the survey, just 34 percent of the firms said they have a plan to recruit college graduates in the second half. Twenty-six-point-seven percent said they have no plans to hire new employees while 39 percent said they have not yet made recruitment plans.

About half of the firms said they prefer job applicants with work experience or majors related to the job.
