Air conditioners and fans are flying off the shelves in South Korea due to the record breaking heat this summer.
 
Lotte Himart said in a press release Monday that air conditioner sales at its stores during the months of July and August peaked this year in an analysis of its sales during the past five years. The electronics retailer said air conditioner sales leaped about 50 percent from the previous high set in 2013.
 
It added that sales of fans from January to July exceeded sales during all of 2015. Fan sales during the first eleven days of August surpassed sales during the whole month of August last year.
