S. Korea Condemns N. Korea's Missile Firing

The South Korean government has strongly condemned North Korea’s latest launch of two ballistic missiles.

The Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday in a statement that the launch is a blatant violation of the UN Security Council(UNSC) resolutions and a grave provocation to South Korea and the international community.

The ministry said that the North’s repeated provocations clearly show that the North Korean regime is erratic and belligerent.

It said that it will take necessary steps at the UNSC in close cooperation with other countries while beefing up sanctions and pressure against the North through joint efforts with the international community.

The ministry added that it will step up self-defense measures to counter the North’s nuclear and missile threats and continue to strengthen its deterrence based on the South Korea-U.S. joint defense capabilities.
