The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) dropped 24-point-24 points, or one-point-two percent on Wednesday, closing the day below the two-thousand threshold at one-thousand-994-point-79. The fall came after U.S. stocks overnight recorded their biggest loss in nearly a month.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also inched down two-point-58 points, or zero-point-37 percent, to 698-point-32.

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency weakened seven-point-six won against the U.S. dollar to one-thousand-117-point-six won.
