N. Korea Calls for Preparedness to Fight Back in Event of Contingency

North Korea held a large-scale meeting attended by key officials of its ruling party, government and military on Tuesday, a day before the 63rd anniversary of the signing of the Korean War Armistice Agreement.
 
The North’s Korean Central Television reported that the meeting was held in Pyongyang amid the participation of parliamentary chief, Kim Yong-nam and head of the General Political Bureau, Hwang Pyong-so, among others.
 
In a statement, Minister of the People’s Armed Forces Pak Yong-sik stressed the importance for the whole society to embrace a mood that places importance on the military. He also said that in the event of a contingency, all North Korean people must be thoroughly prepared to fight back to defend their country.
