JCS: N. Korea Floated Propaganda Leaflets on Han River

The Joint Chiefs of Staff(JCS) says North Korea floated anti-South propaganda leaflets on the Han River last week.

The JCS revealed on Wednesday that the South Korean military retrieved dozens of plastic bags containing the leaflets from the river near Gimpo in Gyeonggi Province on Friday morning.

The JCS said that based on an investigation by related agencies, North Korea is believed to have intentionally sent the leaflets from the northern area of Gimpo.

Officials said it's the first time Pyongyang attempted such a distribution via the Han River.

The JCS also explained the leaflets contained content such as the North's distortion of July 27th, the date when the Korean War armistice was signed, as "Victory Day" and its threat to launch attacks using Musudan missiles.
